Cinnamon Tea
This tea will improve digestion and circulation, reducing coldness in the body, especially the hands and feet. It balances the blood sugar and supports the health of the lungs and sinuses during cold and flu season. Best to have it during winter and into early spring.
Ingredients:
1 stick of cinnamon about 1/2 -1 inch
4 cups of water
Honey (optional)
Options: add ½ tsp ground ginger for slow sluggish digestion or if experiencing constipation. Add in 2 crushed cardamon pods if experiencing cough or congestion.
Directions:
Place cinnamon stick in water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. When finished discard the cinnamon stick pour tea into a thermos and sip on the tea throughout the day. Add honey if desired for sweetness. Adjust the amount of cinnamon to your liking, one inch of cinnamon stick will have more intense flavor, while 1/4 - 1/2 inch a milder flavor.
