transitioning into spring
The cold qualities that build in the body during winter begin to thaw out, just like nature, as we transition into spring, increasing the quantity of water in the body. This expresses itself in the body as sinus congestion, seasonal allergies, skin rashes, and lethargy. Spring is the time to incorporate a diet that includes foods that are warming, stimulating, and supporting circulation, moving the lymph, cleaning the blood, and supporting digestion. Cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and turmeric are good to add to your diet this time of year.
It is also the best time to do a seasonal cleanse. Cleansing during the transition of season supports the body's natural detoxification process that occurs during this time. It allows the body to reset and digest the metabolic waste accumulated during the winter by cleansing the blood and lymphatic system and improving circulation to the liver and kidneys.
For those who have never experienced a digestive reset, consider investing in your health this spring. Even if your diet is healthy, consistent exposure to pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, and environmental toxins and wastes weakens digestion and inhibits your body's ability to process these exposures and metabolic waste. When the body can no longer process metabolic waste, which we call Ama in Ayurveda, it leads to an inflammatory response. Inflammation is the number one cause of disease and chronic illness in America and worldwide.
Strengthening digestion allows the body to digest and move out metabolic waste, reduce inflammation by clearing the lymphatic system, and improve overall circulation. Leading to good health, clear skin, bright eyes, good sleep, mobile joints, less pain in the body, robust immunity, and longevity.
I will lead a Spring Cleanse from April 14th to the 28th and would love for you to join me. I have been doing seasonal cleanses twice a year for over a decade and leading clients and groups. It is a time to relax, reset, and renew the mind, body, and spirit. JOIN HERE
